The bagpipe guild

I was biking down the hill in Prospect Park the other day and heard what sounded like bagpipes. I scanned the woods as they scrolled by and sure enough: bagpipes. Not on a walking path or near a bench - just some large man in a kilt in the middle of some bushes playing a bagpipe.

This led me first, to laugh. Then I got to wondering about bagpipes. Are there really (recognizable) bagpipe songs? Is there such thing as bad bagpipe players? I think I saw a bad bagpipe player in a movie once, but never in real life. Maybe you learn the bagpipes in solitude out in the mountains and are allowed back only when you master them, now officially a man.
