Things I've learned from dying

I’m having my reoccuring dream again where I’m in a plane and it runs into a mechanical problem on takeoff and starts to tumble towards the earth, but this time I am an old man and I am ready for death. There is a younger woman next to me and I reach out to hold her hand and comfort her. Instead of holding my hand she clamps down on it – a real death grip, and I feel her anxiety. Being empathetic I start to feel anxious all over again. Some things never change.
