Alright you lazy pot-smoking hippy
Young people vs. the people that are making a real difference:
The young represent pure, unadulterated idealism -- which coincidentally is right on target 90%+ of the time (you're never too old for the golden rule).
Thing is, idealism tends to be annoying to adults. You need to understand how the world works and find a VEHICLE to apply the ideals.
Are you good with math? Go become an engineer and work on solar technology or wind farms or hydrogen powered automobiles.
Are you an artist? Don't make sculptures of turtles for god sake! You can go see turtles at the petstore or you can go scuba diving in Costa Rica instead of backpacking through Euope after college if you love turtles so godamned much. Use your art to create websites and branding and professional collateral to get smart people's ideas in front of people so they can get adopted.
Action isn't just talking loud - it takes ideals AND a business mind, which is a tough combination to defeat, no matter what your budget.
