France vs. California
On Friday the 26th of September, 2003 a small crowd gathered to partake in a wine-tasting/birthday party at the Haus Interactive office. 3x5 cards were left on the counter with pens. partygoers were encouraged to write a little blurb about each wine as they tasted it. The following is the transcript of the party as read on the cards, in rough chronological order:
WYATT 2001:
- A bit sour, but friendly
- It reminds me of my childhood: Dry, fulfilling and most of all, young.
- Delicious! Hints of wood, berries
- yummy! delicious with berries.
UNNAMED:
- MAYBE IT'S JUST THE WINE TALKING, BUT WHOAH! THIS SHIT ROCKS!
RABBIT RIDGE:
- While it looks good when you first see it, but when you open her up... let's just say some things are best left undiscussed. Let's never drink this wine again.
- Spicy + dry, yet hot.
- This has long been a favorite wine of mine. However, since I'm currently sleeping with the person who brought it I may be slightly biased.
RAVENWOOD:
- The label depicts an infinite chain of birds pecking each other in the bird ass. It's fine.
CASTLE ROCK:
- It makes the back of your teeth dry... kind of like eating an unripe apple or a banana peel...and it's good.
- A little glass of yum! Nice light/med bodied raspberry, blackberry, plum combo w/spicy finish
- feels "zingy" on your tongue! Yay!
- Warm floral bouquet - kind of like a late autumn day that starts our in the low 70s (but not too humid) and cools down into the night. "Light" is not "watery" which is a good thing.
- Sweet at first taste. Good w/Cheddar cheese!!! Sweet and tasty
- just how I like it baby!! Ah.
JEAN-LUKE COLUMBO (france):
- Light bodied & spicy. Oakey, leathery. Man I wish I had a steak to go w/it!
- A little too bitey and acidic. A little dry, not exactly sure how it would taste if spilled on human skin + licked up. That's the real test of good wine!
- I must say I brought the best wine tonight. It is fresh but of course. The lady will be happy with this any time of day ... or night.
RANCHO ZEBACO:
- Not too strong...not as fruity as I had hoped
- didn't get me tipsy-feeling like I was rolling in a vineyard...
GIVRY:
- Simply the best wine in the house. It reminds me of a warm fire burning softly in a stone house during a light, early morning snow. Simply the best wine in the house -- but didn't I just say that.
UNNAMED:
- I'M SO DRUNK. P.S. YOU'ER NOT
JACK DANIELS (The "Tennessee White" Wine):
- A flowery bouquet with a touch of fall amore. Long legs and a memory you won't forget. Jack, you are for me tonight. Now if I could just get the girl in red to say the same
